Forty-plus years ago, NASA launched the Voyager spacecraft to explore the outer boundaries of our solar system. Six billion miles away from home, Voyager turned its camera back towards Earth for a moment and snapped a picture. This image came to be known as the Pale Blue Dot. To channel the astronomer Carl Sagan, everything we know, every line ever drawn and every building ever created—exists on this pixel in space. The blue dot which punctuates our logo reminds us that our most important project is our planet. It is home to us all.

Yet, our home is fragile. Urbanization is reshaping the planet’s surface. We live in a world which is more vertical, where materials from the earth have been displaced into the sky. Where we borrowed to build our civilization we must develop the technologies to replenish. It’s our pact with our planet. We envision a future where buildings are grown and harvested—living machines in symbiosis with nature. We foresee cities which produce their own energy and recycle matter. We see a future where we can print our homes on this planet and beyond.

To build this future requires significantly advanced technology—disruptive changes in the way cities are designed, built, and operated. So we set out to create the architecture company of the future: one which could think differently, embrace new technologies, and form new alliances across industries.

Our company exists in two parts. First, a tech-forward architecture practice in AI., where we create human-centric solutions for buildings and cities, and SpaceFactory, where we explore and develop technologies to power the former. Together we represent a new model—a hybrid architecture and technology agency with the capability to design and deploy its own technologies.

Our diverse team includes architects, full-stack developers, computer vision and machine learning specialists, city planners, and crossovers who straddle the spectrum. We represent many cultures united in purpose. We see in each project the potential to contribute to the human experience; that by working together, we can build a better world.
